I need to write a blog post so here it is

I haven't been blogging a lot lately, because time.

I even missed doing one of those annual recap posts everyone seems fond of doing, because 2017 was a weird year for me. Many very bad things happened to me during 2017 and I went through a lot of anxiety and depression last year.

I began the year recuperating from a surgery that I wasn't sure would help me but left me completely deaf, my writing career took a nosedive, and my cat died. Roughly in that order. And that was just through April. My family was phenomenal in helping me through all of this.

During the month of November, I had to have 2--COUNT THEM 2--root canals. The abscess in the upper tooth caused chronic sinus infections, so I also spent most of 2017 sick.

Edited to add: the hard drive on my computer also died in November. Fortunately, I have a notebook that I can use in a pinch. I also have an exceptionally excellent PC repair shop in my area. We got it taken care of just in time, and he was able to save everything.

Many GOOD things happened to me in 2017. I found a little black cat that needed a home, my cochlear implant has given me the ability to communicate again, and some very VERY GOOD THINGS happened with my writing career. I just can't talk about those things yet.

I began going to movies in the theaters again in 2017. This was a major big deal for me. I sat in my audiologist's office and cried while I told her about seeing Wonder Woman at the theater.

Over the holidays, I purchased my first Funko Pop, it was Antiope. This past weekend, my daughter and son-in-law found Wonder Woman for me:

Throughout all of this, I have been working on a THING, which cannot be mentioned. It's due to be turned in on February 8. After that, I have a couple of blog interviews that I have to complete, so there might still be crickets here at the old blog until sometime in mid-February.

I certainly hope all is well with you. I will share news with you as soon as I am able. Until then, watch for me.
